Down

Following completion of her Undergraduate MChem degree in pure Chemistry at the University of Hull, Rebecca completed an MSc by Research within their Surfactant and Colloid Group, sponsored by Unilever Port Sunlight.

Rebecca has gained industrial-development experience in a variety of sectors including food and ingredients, healthcare, wound care and personal care. She has worked for both small start-up companies and large multinational organisations, including Reckitt Benckiser, gaining in-depth knowledge of product development processes from identifying and filtering initial ideas through to successful commercial launch.

One of Rebecca’s leading successes to date has been in the development of SPG Innovation’s salt product from a concept to making kilograms of the product, with a view now to creating tonnes.

Rebecca’s role at SPG Innovation sits across both the consultancy and R&D areas of the business. As well as being the technical lead for SPG’s development projects, she also has strategic oversight in taking those products to market. She runs the operational side of the business and is a highly skilled funding proposal writer for UK and European competitions.

Rebecca loves being outdoors and exploring the local area whilst walking and running. She also enjoys indoor rock climbing with her daughter.
